Praveen Nahar

Praveen Nahar is the Director of National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad INDIA with extension Campuses in Gandhinagar & Bengaluru since 2019. He is also a Member Secretary of India Design Council. He is a graduate of 1994 batch of Industrial Design from IIT Delhi. With over 26 years of experience, his range of academic and professional interests include Systems Oriented Design, Design Thinking, Sustainable Design to name a few. As a faculty member in the domain of Industrial Design at NID, he has been actively involved with academic projects with students concerning Systems Oriented Design which involves projects ranging from healthcare to mobility.

He has travelled widely and presented his views in various forums internationally. He has served as the jury member, on scientific committees and advisory boards of various organisations. Prior to joining NID, he was a faculty member in Industrial Design at IIT Bombay and worked as a research associate in Transportation Research at IIT Delhi.
