“The Venue Residences and Shoppes is located on the fringe of downtown Singapore at Tai Thong Crescent. The 8,200.3sqm fan-shaped site has a GFA of 31,572.19sqm and 2,000sqm of premium retail space. The project aims to reinvigorate the nostalgic charm of its original shophouse estate with a vibrant, contemporary twist. A distinctive 2-tiered high and low-rise zone creates visual connectivity and seamless mobility to its surrounding.
The architecture aims to preserve the 1-storey frontage to maintain Tai Thong Crescent’s streetscape. The design reinforces the intimate street scale, adopting the shophouse grid and proportion and allocating suitable private and public spaces that fit into the shophouse bay. A 5-foot way around 28 carefully curated shops entice residents to an endless stream of retail and gastronomical pleasure under the backdrop of a luscious landscape with the conserved Angsana trees.
The Venue Residences feature 4 18-storey tower blocks and a block of 6 pool side duplex units arranged along the boundaries of the site for optimal visibility and minimised overlooking. The 266 residential units range from 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 2-bedroom pool side duplex, 3-bedroom, 3-bedroom dual key, 4-bedroom and penthouse duplex units. Sky terraces provide lush greeneries and breathing space for the residence with easy access from the 5th and 12th storey.
The facade is defined by varying degrees of transparencies, rhythmic play of vertical lines and terracing windows on the external walls; and portals creating strong focal points to the sky terraces. The union is one of scale and depth. Recreational facilities on the 2nd storey embrace a fun and relaxing landscape concept, introducing creative integration of infinity pool, kids’ pool, Jacuzzis and sculptural planting. The club house with function room, gymnasium and steam rooms is positioned to enjoy views from the public landscape and the private pool terrace and at the same time, set apart to ensure security.”
